A SOUTH Devon carpet company was chosen to provide flooring for a project on Alex Polizzi’s current TV show.
In her one-woman campaign to help Britain’s businesses in the BBC Two show The Fixer, she visited the Messer family at the Singing Kettle Tea Rooms in Torquay.
Among the improvements she made at the tea rooms was to have new flooring fitted, and Swift Carpets and Flooring in Paignton were chosen for the task.
Ben Norton, managing director at Swift Carpets and Flooring, was delighted to get the call from the TV show’s producers.
He said: “To be the chosen company to supply and install the Karndean flooring was a fantastic compliment and reflects very well on us as a reputable and trusted local business .
“We are registered Karndean specialists and this high quality product was perfect for the job.
“It really looks and gives the feel of real wood flooring, but has so many more benefits.
“It’s hard wearing, easy to maintain, comes with the appropriate commercial guarantees and ultimately looks fantastic.
“Getting the right flooring for a business really makes a difference . Creating the right environment and a great first impression is all important.”
The Singing Kettle Tea Rooms are run by husband and wife Raymond and Marlene Messer and daughter Cassie.
The family-run business wasn’t sure what the TV shows producers had in mind for the various elements of a planned refurbishment, but when they saw the finished floor, they were very happy with the outcome.
